Crosstalk-aware Spectrum Defragmentation in Space Division Multiplexing Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract

We propose two spectrum defragmentation strategies for space division multiplexing elastic optical networks. Simulation shows defragmentation triggered by spectrum-compactness is better at optimizing spectrum utilization than that by blocking, but it adjusts spectrum more frequently.
