Curvature and Axial Strain Sensing Based on a Single-Mode-Capillary-Single-Mode Fiber Structure

Abstract

A multimode interferometer is fabricated by fusion splicing a section of capillary and two single mode fibers, with its curvature sensitivity of 7.51 dB/m–1 and axial strain sensitivity of 1.98 nm/N demonstrated.
