Abstract
The indium phosphide based photonic integrated circuits have been for long one of the main technologies for the fiber-based communications infrastructure. In this paper, we report several results showing how high-power indium phosphide components can be effectively exploited to build an optical transmitter for high capacity and long-range free space optical communication links.
