112-Gb/s PAM4 with Joint Pre- and Post-Equalization for Data Center Interconnects

Abstract

A joint pre- and post-equalization method is proposed to compensate the bandwidth-limitation impairments in a 112-Gb/s PAM4 system. The experimental results show 2.5–dB improvement in receiver sensitivity after applying optimal pre- and post-equalization coefficients.
