Abstract

Field of view enhanced elemental image capturing system for integral imaging is proposed by adopting a curved lens array. Comparing to a normal lens array, a curved lens array can capture an elemental image with a higher angular resolution. The lens array is curved laterally with uniform radius of curvature. Under given specifications, total field of view and resolution are defined. For mitigating the image distortion triggered by curved lens array and screen, distortion correction mask is applied. The principle of the proposed capture system is explained and experimental results are presented to verify the feasibility of the proposed system.
