Abstract

A new opto-fluidic engine will be presented, which has been designed to be integrated in adaptive eyeglasses for presbyopia correction. Such application request a variable lens with a large diameter and a large dioptric range. The principle of this new approach will be presented together with a simple theoretical model for the static and dynamic response. Experimental results using our first generation of prototypes will be shown and compared to expectations. Finally this new technology will be positioned in the map of existing variable lens technologies.
