Broadly tunable laser based on novel leaky-waveguide metallic diffraction grating

Abstract

Brand new leaky-waveguide metallic diffraction gratings are presented. Their potential is demonstrated on the example of semiconductor optical amplifier-based fiber laser, broadly tunable in a range from 1450 nm to 1615 nm.
