High Temperature Sensing with Fiber Bragg Gratings in Sapphire Fibers

Abstract

We present fiber Bragg gratings in sapphire fibers for high temperature applications. With those gratings temperature measurements up to 1850°C are carried out inside an inductively heated MCVD-fabrication stage.
