On-chip attenuators based on digitized all-silicon nanostructures

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated the on-chip attenuators based on digital metamaterial. The device with arbitrary attenuations can be designed by algorithm. The device can operate over 50 nm spectral range and the footprint is only 2.4×2.4 μm2.
