Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) reveals the effect epinephrine on cerebral oxygen delivery and metabolism during cardiac arrest

Abstract

We studied the effect of epinephrine administration (bolus and continuous infusion) during cardiac arrest and resuscitation on 9 pigs using near infrared spectroscopy. Results showed only epinephrine boluses transiently improved cerebral oxygen delivery and metabolism.
