Abstract

The effect of fully developed speckle noise on the information contained in halftone Images is considered, It is well known that the gray level Information in a binary halftone image may be retrieved by low-pass filtering, which is equivalent to convolving the halftone image with an integrating aperture having a diameter equal to the distance between the spots of the halftone.
