Infrared picosecond pulse generation with synchronously pumped color-center lasers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The generation and application of IR picosecond pulses with synchronously pumped color-center lasers are discussed. Long-term stable operation of a mode-locked Tl(1) color-center laser in KCI with a pulse width of 9/sec and 1.5-µm wavelength has recently been achieved.
