Abstract
The new Nd:glass Nova and Novette laser systems at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will require nonlinear KDP harmonic conversion crystal arrays to support inertial confinement target irradiation experiments at 526 and 351 nm. Since the 74-cm output aperture of the Nova/Novette laser systems is too large to permit the use of monolithic KDP harmonic conversion crystals, it was necessary for us to design and construct arrays consisting of from 9 to 25 square KDP crystal elements.
