Abstract
We have developed a compact high-repetition rate CO2 laser operating in the TEM00 mode which delivers over 100 mj/pulse and operates up to a 750-Hz pulse repetition rate. The device will eventually be line tunable and capable of being frequency offset locked from line center. The laser is intended for applications related to optical pumping of molecular gases to obtain coherent radiation at other wavelengths.
