Mew class of step-Index optical fibers: hard elad silica fibers

Abstract

Step-index optical fibers should function well for the data transmission and measurement in hostile electromagnetic environments, such as process controls and feedback systems for various manufacturing processes. Any area where moderate data rates are required would be well served by such fibers.
