Abstract

Development of low-loss flexible waveguides is of great concern for high-powered CO2 lasers in various applications such as welding, cutting, and laser surgery, and metallic waveguides seem to be appropriate for that purpose.1 In previous papers,2,3 we proposed a dielectric-coated metallic hollow waveguide and theoretically showed that it has extremely small transmission losses.
