Abstract

Coherent optical filtering methods provide a general concept for the classification of patterns. In case of statistical patterns a simple correlation signal intensity evaluation is not sufficient. This paper describes the design of a hybrid optical-digital image-processing system and the development of six different algorithms for correlation-signal evaluation.
