Abstract
We report the production of tunable coherent radiation at 35.5 nm by seventh harmonic conversion of a KrF (krypton fluoride) excimer laser tuned to 248.4 nm. To our knowledge, this is the first report of seventh harmonic generation using an excimer laser and is the shortest wavelength at which the production of coherent radiation has been reported in the open literature. In addition, the third and fifth harmonics of the KrF laser were generated at 82.8 and 49.7 nm, respectively.
