Abstract

An all-lines mode-locker to increase ion laser effectiveness as a source for synchronous pumping of dye lasers was first used in the Ar UV range by Eckstein et al 1 We have attempted simultaneous mode-locking of groups of lines in Ar-and Kr-ion lasers, but temporal and spectral analysis of the output shows that the pulses from different lines are separated in the time domain by as much as 2 nsec.
