Abstract

Interest in discharge-excited Sr+ and Ga+ recombination lasers stems from their potential for generation of high mean powers at high repetition rates in the violet and near ultraviolet.1 We report results of experiments aimed at developing such sources and encompassing both transverse- and longitudinal-discharge devices.
