Abstract
New experimental laser microsurgical procedures that utilize laser energy to heat denture tissue components for use as a biological glue or seal are described. Properties of the Nd:YAG, argon, and CO2 lasers are compared. Factors concerning choice of laser mode, wavelength, power level, time exposure, and spot size critical for laser tissue welding are discussed. Histological sections of the human (in vitro studies) and animal (in vivo studies) are examined.
