Abstract
The design of a single-stage coaxial-flashlamp-pumped dye laser amplifier capable of generating nanosecond duration and tens-of-millijoule output pulses is described. These pulses are continuously tunable over a broad range and relatively narrow band making them suitable for use in lidar, remote sensing, or spectroscopic applications.
