Abstract
Semiconductor lasers capable of operating in a stable single-longitudinal mode are of current interest in view of their potential application in 1.55-μm optical communication systems. Recently several coupled-cavity schemes have been proposed and analyzed for this purpose.1-4 Mode selectivity arises from dispersive feedback, and the laser maintains a single mode with a good mode-suppression ratio even under high-speed modulation.
