Abstract

In recent years, considerable attention has been given to the study of the blue phases of cholesteric mixtures. This Interest has been due mainly to their possible application to displays and other electrooptical devices. One of the more important handicaps of these materials Is the small temperature range where they can be found. Nevertheless, several mixtures have been extensively studied, and many more are under present research.
