Abstract

We have investigated a technique whereby greatly extended Q-switched pulses may be produced. The principle of the technique is similar to that described previously by several authors,1-3 but our implementation is simpler and more compact. In addition we have developed design data for such equipment generating extended pulses which are flat-topped, a common aim of previous work as well as our own.
