Abstract

The intracavity self-injection technique, first reported by Liu1,2 is a simple and effective method generating nanosecond laser pulses. One characteristic of this kind of technique is that the pulse width depends only on the cavity arrangement and the duration of the halfwave voltage pulse applied to the seed pulse-producing Pockels cell PC2. However, changes in laser pulse width were achieved mainly by changes in cavity arrangement.1-4 In fact, it is impossible to tune the pulse width conveniently and continuously.
