Effect of betatron oscillations on the 3-D radiation fields in a free-electron laser oscillator

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The FEL experiments are pushing toward shorter wavelengths, and the radius of the electron beam is becoming comparable with the waist of the laser. When this happens, the electrons at the outer edge of the radiation no longer contribute efficiently to the radiation process.
