Abstract
In a recent paper,1 we successfully demonstrated the use of inverse Raman spectroscopy (IRS) with overlapping beams for measuring one velocity component and rotational temperature at a single spatial point in a supersonic flow. The need to probe more than one velocity component with improved spatial resolution using crossed beams is apparent. We discuss the methods for measuring more than one velocity component with high spatial resolution and report the results of the first such measurements using inverse Raman spectroscopy.
