Abstract
Chaotic behavior of nonlinear systems is a well-known phenomenon, recently observed in laser systems also.1,2 Until now only single-mode gas lasers have been investigated. This paper deals with chaotic emission of solid-state lasers, it is demonstrated that irregular spiking, so far explained by experimental imperfections, is a type of chaotic emission. It can be evaluated theoretically and confirmed experimentally.
