Abstract

The unique combination of high power and continuous tunability provided by multiatmosphere TE CO2 lasers has led to their increasing use in optical pumping,1,2 multiphoton excitation,3 and IR spectroscopic studies.4 For example, use of a continuously tunable CO2 laser pump allowed the recent demonstration of a broadly tunable CH3F far-IR laser via stimulated Raman emission.2
