Abstract
Construction of the Nova Laser Fusion Facility was completed in Dec. 1984, and the alignment system is now being used in an operations environment. The system is comprised of four subsystems, each controlling a different part of the laser, and it automatically performs alignment tasks from the oscillator to target chamber center. All beam alignment data are collected in video form by vidicon and charge injected device (CID) cameras.
