Abstract
The theory and applications of a coherent anti-Stokes (CARS) microscope and a laser electron microscope (LEM) will be discussed. Both devices appear to the user as dark-field monochromatic IR microscopes, the first with a 0.5-μm demonstrated resolution, the second with a 200-Å estimated resolution limit.
