Phase correlation in a Raman amplifier

Abstract

A frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser was used with a Raman seed generator-amplifier to compare the phase of a pulse before and after amplification by stimulated Raman scattering. A schematic of the optical layout is shown in Fig. 1. A portion (25%) of the spatially filtered pump beam was focused into a superfluorescent Raman cell containing 7.8 amagats of H2.
