Abstract

Saturable absorbers are important for mode-locking and Q-switching and as a lasing medium. The low photostability of these dyes in the 1 06-μm region may be a limiting factor for wider technical applications; also a simple solvent is desirable. Interesting results have been obtained by Kopainski et al.1
