Fiber-optic sensors using Forster energy transfer

Abstract

The energy transfer optrode allows a colorimetric reagent to turn a fluorescent transducer on and off using radiationless Forster transfer when the absorption spectrum ovelaps that of the selected fluorescent material, and they are within ~60 A distance.
