Laser probe of the interaction region in photorefractive barium titanate during optical self-pumped phase conjugation

Abstract

We demonstrate a method to probe the interaction region of a barium titanate crystal during self-pumped phase conjugation (SPPC) and have obtained diffraction patterns consisting of a curved band of higher-order modes indicating the presence of localized volume (thick) sinusoidal phase gratings.
