Abstract

Waveguide CO2 lasers utilizing the transverse rf excitation do not need a high-voltage power supply to achieve high-pressure gas operation which enables the wide spectrum tuning of lasers. Therefore, they have many potential uses in industry, optical communications in space, pollution detection, and so on.
