Abstract

We report the performance of a GaAs/GaAlAs distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) laser with phase-shifted first-order gratings (period≈1150Å) fabricated by electron-beam (e-beam) lithography using a sensitive, new resist. The application of such a grating to an integrated passive high-Q cavity is also discussed.
