Abstract
The use of excimer lasers for cutting intraocular tissues was first demonstrated by Pellin et al,1The application of fiber-optically conducted 308-nm excimer laser pulses to lensectomy surgery (phaco-ablation) has shown that small capsulotomy holes can be made, and disruption of the lens occurs in a most efficient manner.
