Abstract

Because of their unique band structure, Hg- based superlattices such as HgTe/CdTe and Hg1−xZnxTe/CdTe may be attractive materials for nonlinear optical applications. Here we report a theoretical and experimental investigation of third- order nonlinear susceptibilities in these novel materials.
