Growth of highly oriented CdSxSe1−x thin films by laser-induced deposition

Abstract

CdS and CdSe are important semiconductors with band gaps in the visible region of the spectrum, These thin films are of practical interest as photoconductors, piezoelectric transducers, and laser materials. They also have potential applications to optical switching1 and nonlinear integrated optics.
