Abstract
We present a theoretical analysis of the temporal behavior of phase-locked semiconductor laser arrays. The analysis is based on semiclassical laser theory modified to include terms that describe evanescent wave coupling between adjacent elements of the array. The numerical results are in excellent qualitative agreement with the only published experimental data on the dynamic characteristics of laser arrays.1
