Abstract

The pulsed strontium recombination laser operating at 430 nm for which mean output powers of up to 2 W have been obtained at pulse repetition frequencies of several kilohertz represents an attractive source for pumping of narrow-linewidth dye lasers in the blue-green spectral region and has a variety of other scientific and medical applications.
