Abstract

Conjugated polymers have emerged as a class of potentially useful optoelectronic material. The feasibility of the design of organic molecules with given optical properties makes analysis of the dependence between molecular structure and optical properties very important. Numerical quantum chemical calculations usually cannot give the simple qualitative rules due to the complexity of the problem.
