Abstract

The mode-locked Nd:YAG laser is an important source of high power pulses, typically 100 ps, in the IR. It is often used for efficient frequency doubling to the green and for pumping femtosecond pulse lasers such as F-center lasers, dye lasers, and fiber Raman lasers. For these reasons there is a great interest in improving the mode-locking techniques for the Nd:YAG laser. We describe the operation of additive pulse mode-locked Nd:YAG lasers at both λ = 1.06 μm arid λ = 1.321 μm.
