Abstract

Diode laser pumped Nd:YAG should satisfy a variety of requirements: TEM00 mode; high power; and high efficiency. Longitudinally multiple end pumped configurations are meeting these conditions.1,2 The best efficiency matching, almost the quantum limit, can be reached with a single longitudinally end pumped system, which is limited in power by the maximum pump power that can be focused onto one spot.
