Abstract

The possibility of amplification of a plane electromagnetic wave on the basis of the stimulated Cerenkov effect has been shown.1,2 The angular spread of an electron beam has a strong influence in the Cerenkov laser gain factor1 and the Cerenkov klystron gain factor.3
