Abstract

The Nike laser system is being designed to deliver 5 kJ of KrF laser light in 5 ns using forty-eight time multiplexed beams. The system will have two large e-beam pumped amplifiers, one with a 20-cm aperture and the second with a 56-cm aperture. The 20-cm amplifier will provide ~200 J to drive the 56-cm final amplifier.
