Abstract
The nonlinear optical material KTiOPO4 (KTP) is widely used for second-harmonic generation (SHG) of Nd-lasers emitting ~1µ because of its high laser-damage threshold, large temperature bandwidth, acceptance angle for phase matching, and mechanical and chemical stability, in addition to its high optical nonlinearity. KTP also has the unique combination of high electrooptic coefficients and low dielectric constants, making it attractive for various electro-optic applications.
