Absolute measurement of quantum efficiency of photodetectors using nonclassical optical fields

Abstract

A new technique of measuring absolute quantum efficiency of single-photon detectors in a broad spectral range without a calibrated standard light source is reported. The new technique is based on nonclassical statistics of photons in the nonlinear process of spontaneous parametric downconversion.
